Lovely ring, but doesn't work as described

I think it’s a lovely ring. I don’t usually wear rings, so I don’t have much basis for comparison, but I bought this in the hope that it might help me sit a bit more still by spinning the ring instead. But that function just doesn’t work as intended. The function I know from a fidget spinner, which runs very smoothly, isn’t in this ring. I’m going to try giving it a bit of silicone or WD40 in the hope that helps. But I don’t think that should be necessary.
