Effective. Bought because I didn't want to risk my new glasses getting damaged. Only complaint is the light weight of it causes the straps to end up uneven or in awkward positions. However, I chose to buy them knowing they would not be as ideal as a chain strap, and it is an easy fix so I would recommend if you're buying for functionality and not high quality / appearance.
